HomeTheater.com writes: “In October Panasonic will begin selling the first Ultra HD TV based on HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2a specifications. Part of the Smart Viera line, the 65-inch TC-L65WT600 is THX-certified and accepts 4K 60p video signals.
The set, which will sell for $6,000, uses 2,400 Back Light Scanning (BLS) technology with local dimming, which is said to improve sharpness and black levels, and has a 4K H.264 (MPEG4) decoder for playing 4K video files from the Internet, USB drive, or SD card and a 4K Swipe & Share feature for wirelessly sending photos from a smartphone or tablet to the TV at up to 4K resolution.”
