The 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) took place January 10-13, 2012 in Las Vegas, NV. Representatives from Wilshire Home Entertainment were on the show floor to experience all the new products coming to market in 2012. There were plenty of LCD televisions on display, but the one that really stood out from the crowd was Samsung’s Transparent Smart Window.
Samsung’s Transparent Smart Window is an LCD panel that not only displays everything your regular computer monitor or television does, but it is so clear that you can look right through it. This exciting new technology lets you keep a close eye on everything on the other side while working on your latest report or checking on internet updates.
During the day, ambient light works as the back-light, but for nighttime use, two traditional edge-lighting sources are used. The Smart Window can also create its own virtual privacy shades.
